At least not any more than the pride any human experiences when they compare themselves with others (and think they come out better ;-). The kind of people who can win elections have to be able to put themselves out there. That takes a measure of what other people might call arrogance. The idea that we "may be punished along with them for taking their false gifts" I think misses some important truths.<br>Romans 13:1, 14:14 and 1 Corinthians 8:1-6 argue that it is, as Christ said in Matthew 15, what comes out of the man that defiles him, not what he receives. <br><br>The gratitude part is right on IMO.
